#RestDays

For more than 15 years now, my fitness journey has been a top priority. During the first 5, it became an obsession, and then a passion. When I found myself traveling to run ultra-endurance races, lost alone in cities, searching for places to train, and being part of a global community that prioritizes its well-being, I decided I wanted to learn more. I learned to program, earned certifications, and created BaconAuth, a website where I uploaded my program, articles of interest, documentation, and wrote opinion pieces.

Once Upon a Stadium

This place will never be repeated. Not in this configuration, not in this materiality, not in this context. This venue is unique, unrepeatable — I don’t mean this in a poetic way, it’s a fact. I kept reminding me this every single day, every single match in Toronto. This idea of “Once Upon a Stadium” is one I fell in love almost immediately.

Make it count

El Nevado de Toluca, is definitely one of my favorite places on earth. Thanks to my job I was lucky enough to be there for a couple of February’s in a row. Having long tournaments and staying there enough to have some days off.

My “Days off Personal Policy” is that this day has to be a long, worthwhile one. Make it seem like a weekend. No sleep if possible — if needed; cease the movement time to catch a snooze and recharge, but we may not be back to this place so, let’s get moving.

One last one

Seems like yesterday we were briefing the team outside the OB-van. There’s almost no snow on the Andes now. Temperatures have risen from the amazing 2ºC to a very popular 28ºC in a matter of days. Less clothes and more smiles. Less teams and more fans. Less matches, much more intensity.

Details

Controlling the details as much as possible makes everyone else’s life easier, but also it makes life much more beautiful. Respect and Learn

I’ve learned to tell some great jokes from some of them, but I’ve also learned to stay quite and let everything unfold when necessary. I’ve learned on how to have a blast while keeping everything working like a Swiss watch. I’ve learned to stand for my crew, my truck and production, as well as having a conversation with the right people about something that didn’t went as planned.

More{Work}More

Hard work shows and pays off. It will only bring you more of its kind. Hard work is a non instant gratification reward system, it’s a grind, a long grueling, non paved road, full of bumps, ups, downs, unwritten laws, no manual, barely any written instructions, a few pirates, a million legends and a whole lot of luck. Luck that has to find you while moving, luck that wants to find you working.

The urgent need for less

Lunch(e)
