Feels like yesterday — it’s been a month now.
We all develop a relationship with our venues. The city. The people. Those places that surprised us in the first place, are now part of us, our knowledge, they belong to us and we are part of them.
Santiago de Chile, Estadio Nacional and the humans that have been a part of our crew will be a long lasting memory. These walls hold history – a very particular one — we get to say that we are part of it. This World Cup happened, thanks to us.
That to me has a weight. I haven’t said it yet out loud, just in my mind, in silence. This idea brings me joy.
Seems like yesterday we were briefing the team outside the OB-van. There’s almost no snow on the Andes now. Temperatures have risen from the amazing 2ºC to a very popular 28ºC in a matter of days. Less clothes and more smiles. Less teams and more fans. Less matches, much more intensity.
We are ready, waiting, eager for a final weekend here in Santiago. Last venue standing, we are the stage for the final matches. We are broadcasting and the world is watching.
This is me trying to cease the moment, because these next couple of days will go by fast, just like this month did.
Let’s do it one last time, Santiago.
